There are so many 'tools' and schools out there these days. There is nothing better than having a mentor to coach a contractor about their local SEO. SEO is a marathon, not a sprint.

Re: Find a Local SEO Contractor – Local Search Engine Optimization

I completely support what you said about Local SEO campaign never being complete. Great SEO for any business website truly does require tender loving care. We work with all types of small and large businesses and each one is different. There is no one-size-fits-all solution. You might be interested in taking a look at Local Search Tool localsearchtool.org for giving your clients a localized snapshot of their current online visibility. Also, your organization might benefit from a partnership with Local Site Submit. Having a professional website is not expensive any more. Plus, that allows you to have professional email. I know when I receive any email from a free account, be it gmail, yahoo, hotmail, or any number of 'free' email addresses, it raises my guard because even if they are proposing something plausible to help me -- I am not as likely to be interested due to the higher level of risk.
There is nothing wrong with having gmail accounts. You need one to use all the wonderful tools available from Google. But when introducing yourself, you only get one chance to make that first impression.
Be yourself online. If you are a professional offline, then make sure your web-presence matches or exceeds that benchmark.
Ask for help; know your limits and how to use your time properly.
